Bondad Program
Support Community Educational Programs at Vallarta Botanical Garden
The Crown Jewel of the Puerto Vallarta area!
Vibrant and resilient natural ecosystems depend on the stewardship of their local communities. As a mission-driven non-profit, the Vallarta Botanical Garden is committed to environmental conservation and fostering prosperous local communities across our municipality of Cabo Corrientes.
Three years ago, we received a special donation from Mr. David McCann of Vancouver, Canada, that seeded the launch of these important local educational programs. David’s motto is “do random acts of kindness whenever you can!” Therefore, we’ve named this program Bondad (kindness in Spanish).
Our local public schools can languish without ongoing outside funding, as they receive almost no government assistance or resources for even basic needs. Healthy and educated kids are our future conservationists and community leaders.
Through Bondad, great achievements have been made: we’ve built a new school cafeteria serving 300 students daily in El Tuito; constructed indoor bathrooms that were installed in the remote school house in Corrales; created scholarships (BECAS) for local kids; purchased back-to-school supplies and laptops for teachers, and replaced school roofs destroyed by last year’s hurricane; along with numerous other projects.
The Vallarta Botanical Garden also runs environmental education workshops and receives thousands of local students annually on field trips.
We thank David for his foundational gift, which kickstarted the Bondad program and has already touched the lives of many local families.
Bondad has room to grow; next year, we hope to expand the scholarship program to help other local families in need!
Your gift of education today will allow the Garden to realize this vision! Click below to help fund our educational programs across Cabo Corrientes!
Thank you, as always, for all your support!
