The Vallarta Botanical Garden provides environmental education inside and outside our facilities, through free guided tours and the bird watching educational program in schools in surrounding communities. In the last year alone, more than 1,400 students have been served.
Among the visitors to the Garden, science communication is implemented through guided tours and signage referring to the biology and ecology of plants and animals, as well as teaching on citizen science platforms.
Each year, environmental and cultural themed events are promoted, such as the “Chocolate, Coffee & Vanilla Festival”, “Birds and Nature Festival” and the “Hummingbird Week”, with free activities and the collaboration of other environmental organizations from the Bay of Banderas.
It is worth mentioning that the altruistic donations of the members of the Garden and the participation of visitors, students of social service, and professional practitioners, are essential for the operation of these programs.
